Hello everyone! So I have switched my blog to wordpress. I am going to keep this one up, but if you want the most updated posts check out my newest blog. All of my old post have been transferred as well!
Here is a sneak peak into our bedroom before I post an apartment tour with tons of DIY projects! These wall lamps are from IKEA and can also be clamped. We found two wonderful pallets and screwed the lamps in both sides. Now we have more room on our night stands! I threw this amazing blanket (I already owned from Mexico) over the headboard to add a little color. All the bedding is from Target including the decorative pillows. Be on the look out for a full apartment tour and more in-depth DIY projects.
As you all know I have moved apartments.... and of course that means Pinterest and endless DIY projects. As I was creating there were projects I really enjoyed. One in particular is a "tapestry" that I saw on Pinterest.
I decided to take what I saw and make it bigger and slightly different. I do plan to create different designs and sizes. It turned out quite wonderfully. So wonderful that I wanted to make and sell them! It is a WAY cheaper alternative to the new woven tapestry crave. And that is an expensive trend, so here is a way to make it not hurt your wallet. Make your own with the DIY blog, or buy it from me! Enjoy!
Hello everyone! I'm back... Back from where you ask? Everywhere. I traveled to two different states, and moved cities, in one month. So here I am with an OOTD and a random cute picture of Scarlett for being gone so long. YouTube videos will be starting up again as well. Enjoy!
I felt the need to do an OOTD for this particular outfit because it contains a lot of my summer go-to items. My hat is from Wal*Mart. I passed up a Banana Republic one just like it! I'm glad I did, because this one is only $10! My shirt is from J.Crew Outlet. I where this blue jean shirt at least three times a week... Don't judge. My shorts are made of a very light linen material from Old Navy. My shoes are from target. I have worn these shoes so much this summer, and they will easily transition into fall along with my shirt. Sorry I didn't have any close ups of items, I was in a rush (story of life).
I hope you guys enjoyed my short "coming back" blog! I am so excited to get back into the swing of things. I will be giving an apartment tour soon. I should note that I will also be blogging a tutorial of my vertical striped wall.
Creating daddy's Father's Day present was fun for Scarlett and I. Well.... Kinda of. Our Father's Day photo session took 2 sessions of crying, Georgia humidity, a button-up and bow tie, and I did a lot of embarrassing dances. It was worth it! Caleb loved that she is in his clothes. We printed an 8X10 of my favorite picture and framed it for his desk.
Caleb and I filmed the "Boyfriend Does My Makeup" tag. Of course this would be the husband edition. Make sure to watch the video, and here are some close-ups of the makeup look, "Terrific Tuesday Tonight".
I have so say, from a distance it looks pretty good! These photos are unedited. I think my camera must have a setting that makes your skin perfect. My skin looks great here and you can't see the crazy foundation work Caleb did. Hmmm..
OOTD with the new makeup look.
I actually liked the color combo on my eyes. As funny as it is, I am going to try it myself!
You can see the foundation/concealor work from Caleb more in the photos.
She was definitely interested in the colorful round things randomly on the grass. She would place them in the basket when told, but had plans of her own. Scarlett made a run for it and had us chase her the whole time. The child is definitely the outdoors type. She enjoyed the eggs indoors, shaking them and finding candy inside.
Bunny Shirt: Target
Sandals: Salt Water Sandals in brown. (Got hers from Amazon for half the price.)
Being the only grandchild she did receive a lot of Easter goodies. That's fine with Caleb and I.... more for us to eat when she goes to bed.
Easter Sunday or resurrection day was wonderful. Scarlett wore the dress that has been hanging in her room since she was born. It was given to us from someone that had a Scarlett as well and passed to us. Of course we had a wonderful time with our church family. The weather was perfect and we dyed Easter eggs after our lunch and nap. My mother-in-law was able to stay with us for the Easter weekend so I got to physically and mentally relax from motherly duties. Very nice.

The husband and myself.
I didn't really own an "Easter" dress, but I recently bought this one (Forever21), and it sufficed. It's probably nothing to a lot of people, but this outfit is definitely out of my comfort zone in a few ways. One, it's a dress. Two, I'm not wearing black. I am pretty sure I had a dress like this in the 90's. It is a slight oversized/baggy dress, but I used the belt too look more "put together" for such an important day. You can barely see in the photo, but the dress has light anchors all over it. I paired it with my tan ankle booties from Target (which I have been loving), and gold rings from H&M. Then there is my dashing husband and his bow tie. Love it.
She loved dying the eggs so very much!
Thank you all for taking the time to read my posts! Every view and comment makes my heart warm! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! Now, time to work out a little harder so I can eat the rest of this Easter candy.
Ever shopped on Instagram? I shop on "Insta" all the time... If you aren't familiar with this, I shall explain. There is a whole community of shops that sell on Instagram. You can find new and gently used items from clothing to home decor for GREAT PRICES.
How can you buy off of Instagram? That confused me at first as well, but it easier than your normal online shopping. A shop will announce an upcoming post (selling time) and what kind of things will be sold. When it comes time to sell (as announced) the seller will post one item at-a-time just like you would normally post a Instagram picture. Each picture will have details about the item and price. The fun part is coming this... the first person/commenter to leave their Paypal e-mail gets the item. In a case where the person doesn't want it, or didn't pay for the item (there is a certain amount of time a payment is expected) it goes to the next commenter in line. So the only thing you have to do is have your Paypal ready and up-to-date. I didn't realize my Paypal had an old address on it and a package was sent to my old address! The seller will send an invoice to your Paypal and you will pay by logging in to your Paypal account and paying through the sent invoice. I hope I am making sense.
Now, the exciting news.
I now have an Instagram shop! My first post is tonight (April 16) and it is a small collection of gently used women's clothing. I will be selling many things on there, but decided to start small for the my first post. So make sure you are following me on Instagram! By following me you can also see some of the other shops I follow!
I haven't posted pictures of my husband and I very much on the blog. So you probably can guess where this is headed. Here are some pictures... of me and my husband... on the blog. These were taken via iPhone before we left for church. No fancy camera work. In fact, we had to use a auto camera app and couldn't get Scarlett to stand still for a family picture. We will be getting legit pictures taken soon to help support a good friend going on a mission trip. Even if the money wasn't for that I would still use her. She. Is. Talented. I will have a HUGE blog post dedicated to that. Keep your eyes peeled.
I can't believe I never posted these pictures. I printed them for her birthday party, but never digitally put them together! If you want to know how I displayed her pictures (DIY instructions) click here!
Here are a few photos I have been working on for my sister. I can't believe I was taking her senior pictures... She is suppose to be little and fighting with me, right? It wasn't hard to capture or edit these photos because she made them beautiful naturally. I love you Katelin! (I call her "KK".) We had a little fun, as you will see towards the end. KK and I share an odd/dry sense of humor. Enjoy.
I might have to steal that sweater from her.

Just being casual.
FACT: I have a picture from my senior year with a horse head. (She had no idea until I told her). What does that say about us?
The items she always has during school: iPhone, aviators, and a Starbucks beverage. Starbucks is more significant to us than a typical posed coffee picture. When I lived at home mom trusted me to take katelin to school. We were always late because of our stops at Starbucks with no intention of attending math on time. (Yes, coffee shop hang outs. Before it was cool.) When we purchased Rock Band we didn't even make it to school. Hopefully mom isn't going to read this.
Had to incorporate KK's shoes. She always has tons of really cool and unique kicks.
After the photo shoot we decided to ride around town. Needless to say, we created some fun memories horsing around.... Horse-playing... I'll stop there, but you know it had to be done.
Behind the scenes.
Katelin's plans are to graduate from AirForce ROTC. She wants to major in criminal justice to pursue her 20 year career in the AirForce. We will be taking more photos when the weather is warmer. So yes... Another blog post about KK. You will learn things like: how she can play every sport known to man. (I can only play tennis. On the Wii.) Don't let her beauty fool you.
